PD Dr Gerhard Krug

PD Dr Gerhard Krug studied sociology at the University of Bamberg, where he also received his doctorate. He habilitated in 2016 (venia legendi: sociology).

Since 2003 he has been a researcher at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB), currently in the research department “Unemployment and Social Participation”. Between 2010 and 2018 he was also working at the Chair for Empirical Economic Sociology at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.

His research focusses on the causes and consequences of social inequality in the labor market. He published his work in, among others, European Sociological Review, Research in Social Stratification and Mobility, Social Science Research and Social Science & Medicine.
