Prof. Dr.-Ing. Prof. e.h. Wilhelm Bauer

Being the Executive Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering in Stuttgart, Germany, Professor Wilhelm Bauer heads a research organisation of some 650 employees. He is responsible for research and implementation projects in the areas of innovation research, technology management, living and working in the future, and smarter cities. As a member of various committees, he is an advisor to policy-makers and the business community. Wilhelm Bauer is the author of more than 350 scientific and technical publications and a lecturer at the Universities of Stuttgart and Hanover. In 2012, he has been honoured with the “Übermorgenmacher” distinction for innovators by the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg.
