Priority review (Vorrangprüfung)

If foreigners from third countries want to take up an employment on the German labour market, a so called ”priority review“ (Vorrangprüfung) takes place. The priority review verifies whether or not there are applicants with preferential rights on the labour market available for a position. Applicants with preferential rights are German citizens, EU citizens or residence/settlement permit holders.
