Prof Dr Brigitte Schels

Prof Dr Brigitte Schels attended the Economics and Social Sciences Faculty of the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU)to study social sciences. She received her doctoral degree from the University of Mannheim in 2012. From 2011 to 2015, she was active as a researcher at the Chair of Sociology and Empirical Research at the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU). From 2015 to 2023, Brigitte Schels was an Assistant Professor for Labour Market Sociology at the FAU. In 2020 and 2021, she has been a visiting professor for Social Stratification and Quantitative Methods at the University of Vienna. She had been a member of IAB's research staff. Since 2024 Brigitte Schels has been Professor of Empirical Social Structure Analysis at the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg.
